Growing up on an Illinois farm, Elissa Frankino learned patience, process and a deep appreciation for the beauty of the world around her. Elissa’s rural background carries over into her work via the ‘catch and release’ process in which she captures the texture of our environment in precious metals. Through her work, she hopes to raise awareness and appreciation of the beauty in our everyday moments and surroundings. Elissa is a metalsmith who has been awarded for her unique designs and meticulous craftsmanship. She earned her Bachelors of Art from Illinois State University and a Master of Fine Artdegree in Metals and Jewelry from the Savannah College of Art and Design. Currently, she lives in Savannah, Georgia where she creates jewelry and objects while also teaching at Armstrong Atlantic State University. |
